Work
Hi,
Work is really giving me the shits at the moment... 4 months ago i started working at Volante on the G8 helpdesk. I accepted the position under the completely false pretences, everything i was told about the job was a lie/bullshit and i was told that being in level 1 on the helpdesk would be temporary. 2 months or so later a level 2 position came up and i wasn't offered it, so i talked to my manager about everything i was told and asking how long she wanted me to sit here before she'll move me up (which i was promised would happen soon). When i talked to her she kept saying shit like 'Your old 18' and basically told me everything i was told was a lie and i wasn't going to be able to goto level 2 for months at least. She also told me that i there's no way i'll get into the network/server team untill i'm at least 23 - so basically she wanted me to sit on the helpdesk for another 5 years. 5 years is definately not 'temporary'. In the end she basically said to me, either deal with my current position (which i hate) or look for a new job. Since that meeting i have been looking for a new job and a few weeks later a on-site position was sent around to everyone in Volante (basically the person that physically goes out to the PC). I talked to the manager of the on-site team and went through alot of stuff with applying and her having to apply to offer me more money and then i was going to get the job, all that needed to happen was for my current manager to sign a release form for me to transfer departments. My manager will not sign this form and won't release me to on-site. After 3-4 bullshit excuses for not letting me have the job it was basically put down to there are too many people in my helpdesk quitting at the moment and we're currently understaffed that she can't afford to loose another employee. So because she can't run a helpdesk properly and all her employees are quitting i don't get to take the new position and further my career. Basically she's getting in trouble from her manager because everyones quitting - well i'm sorry but that's NOT my problem, stupid selfish cow.
Anyway, that's my rant about my current work situation. Anyone in canberra who knows of any jobs in IT going at the moment that are actually technical, let me know. :)
